Franklin Armory Glock Binary Trigger - Shot Show Range Day is all about Franklin Armory dropping the mic. He released the Glock's binary trigger. Yes, you read that right. A pull/release trigger has been developed for Glock use. We took a closer look at the show floor and filmed it in a few days.

Having one for a Glock was always a dream come true when Franklin Armory came out with a binary trigger. Until now that seemed impossible. Well, the engineers at Franklin Armory do just that. Life will find a way. The Glock binary trigger is called the G-S173.

Franklin Armory will make a Glock binary trigger for the Glock 17, but it won't be a simple trigger swap. To get the Glock binary trigger, he did some magic with the slide to work the trigger. So, if you buy a Glock binary, it comes with a slide and trigger. You must provide your own barrel, frame and recoil spring.

You can see that the Glock binary slide is not like the regular OEM Glock 17 slide. The slide has a cutout to accommodate the magic.

Like other binary triggers, the clock binary trigger has a selector switch. This is the rotary selector switch on the left side of the slide. Flip over for a pull shot. Flip down to drag/drop binary mode.

Franklin Armory has two prototypes. Below is a nice looking prototype with the optics cut off at the top.

Below is another prototype. They haven't decided yet whether or not they will offer optical pieces. I hope they do. They are also exploring options with sliding pieces.

I was also taken in a few days. I found the trigger to be a bit different than usual. But it works. I also took a slow motion of the trigger to see how it moves when manipulated in binary mode. There are some interesting things I learned about this trigger from high speed.

If you look carefully, in the length of the slow movement, you can see the trigger reset in the output in two stages. Go half way and the striker is freed to shoot in the next round. After the slide is reciprocated, the trigger is kicked forward to the final position, where you continue to pull the trigger again for the next shot.

Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock Binary G-S173 for $899. Some may have sticker shock, keep in mind that regular binary triggers are around $300 and HK binary triggers are $700. That makes it an additional $199 slide. You still need to supply your own barrel and recoil spring. They are planning a Q2 release date.
